Egypt · Private Scholar-Led Travel
Bring your group. Pick your dates. Johnny does the rest: itinerary, access, stories, and on-the-ground guidance from a true expert.
A new way to travel Egypt
Family, friends, an alumni circle, a society. 4 to 14 travellers works best.
Whenever suits the group. We'll advise on season and length.
From the first call to the last sunset on the Nile. One expert, every day.

Your guide-in-chief
Johnny is an Egyptologist and art historian who travelled Egypt for more then three decades. He graduated KU Leuven, Magna Cum Laude, first of his class and is global tourleader certified by CVO Volt Belgium in 2026. He reads the hieroglyphs on the wall like you read your morning paper.
He's also one of those rare scholars who knows how to tell a story. He can stand in front of Ramesses II at Abu Simbel and bring 1274 BC back to life and a day later walk you into a tomb most tours never visit.
Professionally Johnny is a former Procter & Gamble sr. executive who worked mainly in Central & Eastern Europe and Afrika.
When you travel with Johnny you don't get a script. You get passionate knowledge, deep relationships with the people who guard these sites in Arabic, and an itinerary built around what your group actually wants to feel.
What you actually get
This is closer to hiring a scholar-in-residence than booking a tour. Here is everything Johnny brings to your trip:
A consultancy, not a tour package
Where he takes you
Every site Johnny suggests has a story he can't wait to tell you, and a door he knows how to open.

Traveller stories
If passion for ancient Egypt had a name, it would be Johnny . His enthusiasm, knowledge and energy are truly contagious. During our trip in 2026 to Cairo and Luxor he brought the temples , tombs and stories of ancient Egypt vividly to life. His depth of knowledge as an egyptologist and art historian is impressive, but what makes him truly special is how naturally he shares it - with warmth , clarity and genuine excitement. After returning home, I found myself reading books about ancient Egypt just to deepen my knowledge further. Thats the mark of an exceptional guide.
We travelled with Johnny to Cairo, Luxor and Edfu in 2026. Johnny stood in Karnak and read the hieroglyphs directly to us, fluently, passionately, without notes. I had goosebumps the entire time.
We visited Cairo, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel and Komombo, Edfu and Esna with Johnny. He stood in front of Ramesses II and explained the geopolitics of 1274 BC as though he had been there himself. Two weeks that changed my relationship with human history.
